Wasatch Beach Volleyball
Wasatch Beach Volleyball was formed by Mike Manczuk and Mark Zimmerman, long-time beach volleyball players and friends who are passionate about the sport and committed to its growth and development. The mission of Wasatch Beach Volleyball is to grow the sport by bringing the fun and excitement of pro-style beach volleyball to Utah through developmental initiatives and an extensive schedule of competitive events.

Mark Zimmerman

Mark Zimmerman learned to play beach volleyball while living at the beach in San Diego prior to moving to Salt Lake City in 1990. Like other players who learned by interpreting and applying what he saw other players do, Mark understands the value of early coaching and ongoing mentoring to help players become the best they can be. His experiences underscore the value of an ongoing commitment to fitness and solid nutrition to assure a long life as a beach volleyball player.
Carl Tam - Men's Player Representative
Carl grew up in Layton and didn't start playing volleyball until after high school when he and friends started playing in UOVA tourneys. He played on the University of Utah Club Team for four years and is still a student at the U - working on a PhD in Biomedical Engineering which he hopes to complete in 2011.
Carl met his wife (Brook) while playing volleyball so she shares his desire to get out and play on beautiful days. The Tams have a son, Daxton, and another child is due in September.
Carl admits to being addicted to volleyball, both indoor and outdoor, which serves him well as the Wasatch Beach Men's Player Rep and Coach. Carl is available for outdoor coaching and cites his particular strengths in serving, passing and shots.
